nbaoffseason:

Here’s the reality: LeBron missed the free throws, Wade missed the layup.
But at the end of the day, they combined for 52 of the HEAT’s 75 points. LeBron had to play 43 minutes, a lot of it playing out of position at the 4/5 and still put up 28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals.
Did I mention that Bosh missed this game? Because that’s important.
When Miami signed their own Big 3, the theory was that LeBron can play the MVP role and Wade could fill the second scorer. Bosh would be key to their championship equation as he would be the filler. He’d have to play at a constant level to always make sure that Miami’s dynamic duo got enough help to secure wins.
Bosh doesn’t always have to play well, his usual 18 and 8 would normally do the job. Sometimes, he’d have to play like an All-Star, which he’s perfectly capable of. But at the end of the day, he just needs to make up the difference between what the stars put up and what the role players don’t.
Right now, Miami’s bench is terrible.
That’s why they miss Bosh right now. More than ever. Outside of Wade and LeBron, the rest of the team is struggling, tonight they made 17 of 61 shots. 17. Miami had 11 assists, Wade and LeBron had 9 of them. Miami had 40 rebounds, 15 of which were credited to LeBron and Wade. Of the 14 offensive rebounds, 7 of them were grabbed by, you guessed it, LeBron and Wade.
The problem here isn’t LeBron missing clutch free throws, Wade missing a crucial layup or LeBron not waving off teammates and driving. Those things happen. The problem here is that Miami has no one else to trust with ball. They are two players deep right now.
While everyone else is searching for someone to blame, Wade and LeBron are searching for someone to pass to. Not sure who it will be, but they don’t have many games left to figure it out.

The article is correct. The picture is misguiding. Michael Jordan was drafted in 1984 #3 by the Chicago Bulls at age 21. LeBron James was drafted #1 by the Cleveland Cavaliers at age 18. Three years and a team difference. Michael Jordan made his first NBA Finals birth 7 years into his career. LeBron was swept in his first NBA Final’s birth 4 years into his career to return for another Finals lost in his 8th year after uniting with a Dwayne Wade & Chris Bosh for the sole purpose of championships. When Michael Jordan was 27, he had only 6 years into the league and was constantly in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in competition with the the eventual NBA Champions (Detroit Pistons) and when he overcame them he won 3 straight in a row. Lebron is 9 years into his career, Michael Jordan had alredy won his first 3 peat.Age is not the number we should concern ourselves with, its experience. LeBron may have many years ahead of him, but if were going to compare him to the greatness he’ll have to do more than Kobe - whom had Shaquille O’neal for his first three, and Kobe has made 7 NBA Finals apps and won 2 without the assistance of the most dominating Center of our generation (Kobe wasn’t the MVP in the initial 3).
Kobe’s success is more reasonable to compare to LeBron because they both went from high school into the league. And even then Kobe appeared in 3 NBA Final experience in a row as the Captain of his squad from 29-32 years of age. We won’t press the issue with the Shaq situation, but just for the sake of comparison - when the Lakers won their 3 peat - Dwayne Wade & Chris Bosh combined effort approximately equates to Shaquille O’neal’s presence on the court. For two years LeBron had the chance to win it all. Last year, he couldn’t do it. This year, maybe he will. We dont know yet. What we do know is he better; that is the hoopla.
Kobe is winding down and Kevin Durant (and the Thunder) is looking like LeBron’s only competition out there for the coming years. Chris Paul & Blake Griffin will never pose a real threat to LeBron, and for him to win competing against the old versions of Charles Barkleys, Clyde Drexlers, Dominique Wilkins, Reggie Miller, Gary Paytons, Karl Malones, Isaiah Thomas’ of our generation - unlike Michael Jordan did (who competed with the greats at their hay and won) such as the Tim Duncans (who LeBron’s Cavalier couldn’t beat once in 2007) Kobe Bryants — I mean, how many definitive first ballot hall of famers from the 2000s are still in the game? Its LeBron’s time, and its starting to look easier and easier to do it.The only team who can compete with these guys I can forsee is the Thunder. If Dallas doesn’t get Steve Nash, Dirk will retire with #1 ring. This year is the Celtic and Spurs’ last chance. Kobe Bryant may have one or two more Finals’ stretches in him. And Derrick Rose’s Bulls should never be good enough to beat LeBron James, Dwayne Wade & Chris Bosh’s team. Even if my Knicks did all they were suppose to do, got a great point guard, it’d be hard bargain to beat the Heat in a 4 game series in the next 5 or so years.
LeBron’s is an amazing player, but just like the Lakers in 2004 Lakers (Karl Malone, Gary Payton, O’Neal & Kobe) anything less than a NBA Finals Championship is a failure. And since he took on the #Heat project with Wade & Bosh, he will have to deal with the pressure for the remainder of his career. The NBA is Where Amazing Happens, and LeBron is Amazing. But Michael Jordan is why the NBA is Where Amazing Happens, and LeBron needs:
Naismith Memorial BasketballHall of FameClass of…
2 Olympic Gold Medals
6×NBA Champion
6×NBA Finals MVP
5×NBA MVP
10NBA Scoring Titles
3× steals leader
3× minutes leader

3×NBA All-Star Game MVP
11All-NBA Selections
9All-Defensive First Team Selections
2×NBA Slam Dunk Contest Champion –
NBA Rookie of the Year –

to be on Jordan’s level. PS Still, fuck Michael Jordan, his shoe prices, release dates and the lame ass Bobcats.
